MERRILLVILLE | Dr. Leonard F. Anglis and his dental staff are gearing up for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Sept. 22 at Hidden Lake Park, 6355 Broadway, Merrillville.
Walking under the team name “The Unforgettables,” this is the third year the Crown Point/Michigan City dentists and his staff have participated in the annual event which raises funds to find a cure for Alzheimer’s.
“In one way or another, the families of everyone in my office have been touched by this debilitating disease,” Dr. Anglis said.
“In my case, it is my mother who has Alzheimer’s. We want to do everything we can to put an end to this disease that virtually robs us of the loved ones we once knew," he added. "We think this walk is a good start.”
To further promote Alzheimer’s awareness, the staff wears purple scrubs on Tuesdays in the Crown Point office, and purple bracelets are available at both office locations.
Registration for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s begins at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 22 and the walk itself begins at 1:30 .
