CROWN POINT | The Indiana Writers Consortium will host an Eat & Exchange event at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Sip Coffee House, 11 N. Court St.

Join IWC members in a discussion of writing beyond one’s own ethnicity, "Outside Your Demographic: Creating Characters with an Authentic Voice," led by  Julie Demoff-Larson, author and fiction editor of Blotterature Literary Magazine.

Discussion about regional dialect and vernacular, along with what expert linguists have to say, will be highlighted. Examples in prose and poetry will be provided.

This will be the fourth in a series of six free workshops held at local coffee houses. Each session explores a different topic in creative writing and will be facilitated by a different IWC member.
