CROWN POINT | Elementary school students in Crown Point area schools participated in a Read-A-Thon to raise funds for the new Crown Point Community Library, scheduled to open Oct. 22. Crown Point High School and Taft and Wheeler middle schools also held fundraisers for the library.
In all, $13,262.97 was donated to the library. The money will be used to make the children’s area in the new library a special place for youngsters.
Participating schools include: Crown Point High School, Robert A. Taft Middle School, Colonel John Wheeler Middle School, Douglas MacArthur Elementary School, Dwight D. Eisenhower Elementary School, Jerry Ross Elementary School, Lake Street Elementary School, Solon Robinson Elementary School, St. Mary Catholic Community School, Timothy Ball Elementary School and Winfield Elementary School.
