Juliana "Juju" Bozinovski, 5, will be participating in her first pageant this June.
Bozinovski, daughter of Bobby and Krystal Bozinovski, of Crown Point, will compete in the National American Miss Pageant set for the Indianapolis Marriott Hotel on June 15 and 16.
"The program is based on inner beauty. Emphasis is put on the importance of developing self-confidence, learning good sportsmanship, and setting and achieving personal goals," mother Krystal Bozinovski said.
Juliana will perform in the 4- to 6-year-old division, and will be judged on presentation, poise and communication skills. She also will compete in optional categories Most Photogenic and Casual Modeling Wear. No makeup is allowed for her age group.
"My older sister, Madelyn, participated last year so I know what to expect from watching her. I am excited and nervous," Juliana said.
"My mom helps me by asking me questions that the judges might ask me during the interview portion of the pageant. I also practice talking loudly and clearly in a microphone along with practicing my smile," she added.
Bozinovski attends kindergarten at Timothy Ball Elementary School in Crown Point, and enjoys reading. She plans to one day become a pediatrician.
Bozinovski enjoys sports, and has been playing soccer and basketball for two years.
"She plays soccer with Crown Point Youth Soccer, and indoor soccer at the Southlake YMCA. She is aggressive and can run fast, and likes scoring goals," Krystal Bozinovski said.
Bozinovski also will be playing with the Crown Point Basketball Pups program this fall. Her favorite team is the Chicago Bulls, and she hopes to one day play like Bulls star Joakim Noah.
Bozinovski enjoys coloring and riding her bike. She is a member of SS. Peter & Paul Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral.
