LYNWOOD — Authorities continued efforts Monday to recover a vehicle that reportedly went into a pond Sunday off U.S. 30.

Police closed off the highway between Glenwood-Dyer Road and Torrence Avenue as crews battled ice on the water and frigid temperatures.

A drone could be seen being returned to the ground.

A tow truck appeared to be positioned at the top of an embankment, and workers appeared to be staging nearby.

Lynwood Fire Department officials were not immediately available for comment.

A number of other police and fire departments and a dive team also were at the scene.
