Library improvements celebrated

SCHERERVILLE - Dyer-Schererville branch of the Lake County Public Library, 1001 W. U.S. 30, Schererville, held a special open house recently to celebrate the library building's improvements. Michael Davis, left, president of the Library Board of Trustees, along with Larry Acheff, director of the Lake County Public Library, thanked  the crowd for its patience during the construction. Improvements to the building include new floor tile and entrance foyer, wireless Internet, new circulation and reference desk, remodeled children's programming room, new carpet, and a new heating and air conditioning system. Participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony with Davis, from left, are Board of Trustees Secretary Bruce Woods, Board of Trustees Vice President Edith Dakich, Board member Alice Cope, and Lake County Public Library Foundation Secretary Sandra Davis.
