DYER | The family of an infant who needs a medical procedure to save his life has set up a website to help pay for the needed transplant.
Seth Petreikis was born in July and doctors discovered he has complete DiGeorge syndrome, a rare and fatal condition that means his body can't fight infections or viruses.
To survive, Petreikis needs a thymus transplant, which will cost between $350,000 and $500,000. Petreikis' Medicaid health coverage refused to cover the procedure because the state called the surgery experimental.
To donate to Petreikis' surgery fund, visit www.sethbenjamin.org or mail a donation to any Citizens Financial Bank branch labeled as for the benefit fund of Seth B. Petreikis, account No. 2847677.
