DYER | Dyer police will host an informational meeting on Thursday to discuss recent break-ins.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. at the police station, 2150 Hart St. All residents are invited.

Police are warning residents to be on alert, after one burglary and one attempted burglary were reported over the weekend in the 3400 and 3500 blocks of Orchid Drive.

The department is investigating four burglaries and one attempted burglary that have occurred in town since Oct. 1.

Break-ins and thefts tend to increase this time of year, police said.

"Dyer police have increased patrols and are urging residents to lock their cars and house doors," police said in a statement. "Police are also advising to make sure properties are adequately lighted near entrances and report and suspicious activity as it occurs."
