DYER | Dyer has not allowed angled parking in the downtown area because of the heavy traffic flow along U.S. 30.

Town ordinance currently allows only parallel parking.

But now that a developer has proposed opening a brewery on the east side of Gettler Street, just south of U.S. 30 and north of Dyer VFW Post 6448, town officials said they might consider such parking requests on a case-by-case basis.

The Gettler Street site is across from Franciscan St. Margaret Health and down the street from the town’s Emergency Services building.

Parking is scarce on-site in the area, so officials have decided to consider angled parking on Gettler Street.

The Town Council may consider the request during its regular business meeting Thursday.
