DYER | The Dyer Town Council has taken final action to give part-time employees and firefighters a bonus.
The council agreed at its November study session to give part-time employees $250 and firefighters $500. The bonuses take effect this year and will be given out again in 2014 unless the council takes action to do otherwise.
Earlier in November, the council approved a half-day paid holiday for town employees, during which the employees had the option to attend a holiday luncheon paid for by community donations. The half-day paid holiday has also been extended to part-time employees.
