DYER | Police on Wednesday released a surveillance photo of a suspect in Tuesday's robbery at TCF Bank branch inside a Jewel-Osco grocery store.
Dyer police Detective Dan Foley said the unidentified suspect was possibly involved in other bank robberies around Chicago.
The man with a mustache is pictured in the photo wearing a black jacket and a black hat.
The robbery happened at 10:15 a.m. at the bank inside the grocery store at U.S. 30 and Calumet Avenue. Foley said the suspect slipped the teller a note stating he would shoot her if she alerted anyone.
The teller gave the man a bag with a dye pack that exploded. Foley said most of the money was recovered at the scene.
The man left in a gray vehicle with another man described as stocky, about 5 feet and 9 inches tall and about 30 years old.
Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Dyer police at (219) 865-1163.
