DYER | The town is looking for a new park board member.

Applicants must be Republican. The new member will replace longtime member Theresa Scherzinger.

“She’s been an integral part of the Park Board,” Town Council President Joe Cinko said.

Scherzinger will serve until her replacement can be found, Cinko said. She is leaving because of other obligations, he added.

Scherzinger was a member of the board when the Central Park property was acquired and while Pheasant Hills Park underwent renovations.

Park Board members serve staggered four-year terms. Scherzinger’s replacement will serve out her term. All board and commission members are appointed by the Town Council and undergo an interview process with the Town Council.

For more information, contact the Town Council offices at (219) 865-6108.
