DYER | A plan to implement changes stipulated by the Americans with Disabilities Act was approved by the Town Council at last week's meeting.
The council had until the end of the month to approve the plan. Implementing ADA changes would make the town eligible for federal highway dollars, Town Administrator Rick Eberly has said.
The changes will cost between $80,000 and $100,000, but can be implemented over a long period of time, 10 years or more. Community development block grant money, which the town receives every two years, also can be used to fund the changes.
ADA-compatible changes would include modifying sidewalks or adding an automatic door opener at Town Hall.
