DYER | The town will hold a public hearing next month on proposed new water meter charges.

The town is proposing to add a $25 per month charge for those who still have their water meters read manually. Dyer has been gradually transitioning to automatic readings and installing new meters when customers allow it.

The automatic reading is meant as a cost-saving measure. Officials say that the $25 per month reading fee will cover the costs and manpower associated with having the meters read manually. The $25 fee came to the Council via a recommendation by the Water Board.
