DYER | The town has approved an amendment to its e-cycling contract.
The amendment stipulates that Regency Technologies, which has offices in Chicago, will pay Dyer up to 30 cents per electronic item it picks up for recycling. Regency had previously paid Dyer nothing for scrapped electronics and was offering nothing more than free pickup.
Dyer had received an offer from Acme Certified Business Recycling in April to pay for e-scrap, but when Regency offered a counterproposal, Dyer decided to stick with its current hauler.
So-called e-scrap can include computers, laptops and printers.
