DYER | The bridge on Edmonds Street leading into the Dyer Public Works complex has been closed while the bridge is replaced.
The Lake County Highway Department is replacing the bridge in a four-month project scheduled to finish Nov. 18. Total construction cost will be $886,957, said Duane Alverson, a highway engineer with the county.
The bridge will be closed to all traffic during that period. There will be a secondary access road provided during the construction period, located off Calumet Avenue south of 213th Street. The road will be the only access point in and out of public works until the new bridge is completed.
The Public Works facility is open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call Town Hall at (219) 865-6108.
