DYER | A 30-year-old man was shot at a home in the 200 block of Greiving Street Wednesday night, according to Dyer police.

A 911 call was made by a female at the house at 10:42 p.m. asking for police and reporting a shooting, police said. Police found the 30-year-old and another man inside the house, both whom had been fighting. That fight escalated and the 30-year-old was shot once.

The shooting victim was taken to Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Dyer. Greiving Street is just off Hart Street and only a short distance from the hospital.

The other man was taken to The Community Hospital in Munster for treatment of injuries sustained in the fight.

Neither man's wounds were life-threatening, according to police. As of Thursday morning police were releasing no further information on the incident.
