SCHERERVILLE | About 300 motorcyclists gathered at Patrician Banquet Center in Schererville on Sunday to participate in a motorcycle run to benefit longtime Dyer resident Debbie Burns.

Burns was diagnosed with a form of skin cancer and is undergoing aggressive radiation and chemotherapy.

The all-day fundraising event Sunday resulted in about $6,000 in donations to Burns. The donations will help offset her medical expenses as she continues treatment.

There were about 1,200 people in attendance throughout the event.

Those unable to attend and interested in helping may make donations to the Debra Burns account at Chase Bank in Dyer.
