Temple sponsors institute
MUNSTER | Temple Beth-El invites local clergy members and members of the community to attend its annual Clergy Institute from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the temple, 10001 Columbia Ave., Munster. This year's featured speaker is Rabbi Ari Poster Moffic, the director of InterfaithFamily Chicago. There is a charge of $12 to attend the luncheon. Reservations must be made in advance.
World Affairs conference
HAMMOND | The Rotary Club of Hammond sponsors a World Affairs conference beginning at 8 a.m. at Purdue University Calumet. Some 300 students representing 15 area high schools are expected to attend.
K of C fundraising dinner

Church serves German food
MUNSTER | Munster Christian Reformed Church serves a German fest from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, 214 Ridge Road. It includes brats, sauerkraut, German potato salad, homemade red cabbage, hot dogs, chips, homemade desserts and beverages. Admission is by donation.

Thespians stage 'Crucible'

Easter Bunny breakfast
CROWN POINT | The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 8 a.m. to noon at the old Lake County Courthouse in downtown Crown Point. It includes breakfast, an Easter basket door prize raffles, children’s games, face painting, an old-fashioned Easter egg hunt on the courthouse lawn and a visit and photo opportunity (bring your cameras) with the Easter Bunny. Four seating times with 150 tickets available for each will be offered: 8 to 8:45 a.m., 9 to 9:45 a.m., 10 to 10:45 a.m. and 11 to 11:45 a.m. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door, with children 1 and under admitted free of charge. Tickets are available at both of chamber offices: 255 W. 80th Place in Merrillville and Old Courthouse Square, Room 206, in Crown Point. Tickets also are available at First Midwest Bank, 1100 N. Benefit for Humane Society
GARY | The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana and the American Legion Hall host Erin Go Paw, a fundraiser to benefit the animals from 1 to 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 6601 Hobart Road, Gary. The dinner includes corned beef and cabbage, carrots and red potatoes along with a shamrock cookie. There is a cash bar, and dinners to go are available. Cost is $10 for adults; children 5 and younger get in for $5 with a paid adult.
Tamburitzans in concert
MUNSTER | The Duquesne University Tamburitzans perform the music, songs and dances of Eastern Europe and neighboring cultures in a concert from 2 to 4 p.m. at Munster High School, 8808 Columbia Ave. Admission is $24 for adults, $22 for seniors, $15 for students.
