HAMMOND | As part of its effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society, Tri-Town Relay for Life will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jean Shepherd Community Center, 3031 J.F. Mahoney Drive.
Adult tickets are $7 in advance or $10 at the door. Cancer survivors and children 4 and younger pay $4. In addition to information about the upcoming relay, a silent auction will be available.
“I would like to express that the funds raised from this event will be used exclusively to benefit our community,” said Micki Lysek, Tri-Town Relay for Life event chair.
Relay for Life is an overnight community fundraiser for the American Cancer Society where teams camp around a track and walk all night. Food, games, activities, and silent auctions are included throughout the 18-hour event.
The Tri-Town Relay for Life Committee represents Dyer, Schererville, St. John, Griffith, Highland, and Munster.
Money raised at Relay for Life will fund cancer research, prevention, and screenings as well as community programs such as Look Good Feel Good and Road to Recovery.
“Without businesses and the communities’ support, we could not offer what we do for patients, survivors and caregivers,” Lysek said.
