EAST CHICAGO | Officials released the identification of the 8-year-old East Chicago boy who died Saturday afternoon after being struck by a westbound train in the area of Magoun Avenue and Lewis Place.

Jaylin J.J. Harris suffered blunt force trauma injuries after being struck by the train in the 4500 block of Magoun Street.

Harris was waiting with other children for an eastbound train to pass when he was struck at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, police said.
