EAST CHICAGO | A 36-year-old woman crashed her car into a home Sunday morning in the 4200 block of Indianapolis Boulevard, police said.

The Whiting resident crashed into the home at 8:10 a.m. after having a medical emergency, causing her to lose control of her car, said Lt. Marguerite Wilder, of the East Chicago Police Department. The woman and her 4-year-old son were treated at St. Catherine Hospital.

Wilder said the 4-year-old had a broken leg, but police did not have an update on the woman's condition. Police do not plan to charge the woman because a medical condition caused the crash.
