EAST CHICAGO | An East Calumet neighborhood grocery store was robbed at gunpoint Monday night, police said.

Employees at La Hoya in the 4800 block of Drummond Street told officers that two men wearing black ski masks over their faces entered the store shortly before 7 p.m.

One of the men pointed a handgun at the store's cashier and demanded that she empty the register, witnesses said, before both men fled on foot.

No one was reported injured in the exchange, which was captured on the store's video surveillance system, police said.

The suspects were described as black men. One was wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and gray, black and white gym shoes. The other was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans with writing on the rear of the pants legs and red gym shoes.
