EAST CHICAGO | Police are looking for witnesses to a weekend shooting in the West Calumet area that left a South Side resident injured.

The 33-year-old victim, of the 1200 block of Beacon Street, told police he was a passenger in a Nissan sedan when he was struck by gunfire at 150th Place and Jonquil Lane about midnight Sunday.

The shooter was described as a passenger in a dark-colored Kia truck with a license plate in the rear window, police said.

The victim was released from the hospital Monday after treatment for gunshot wounds to his hip and ankle, police said.
