CROWN POINT | An East Chicago man pleaded guilty Tuesday to reduced felony charges of criminal confinement and strangulation.
Marshall Lackey II, 44, was charged with multiple felonies related to incidents July 15 at his mother’s home in the 4800 block of Euclid Avenue in East Chicago.
If a judge accepts Lackey's plea agreement, prosecutors agreed to drop felony charges of attempted murder, attempted aggravated battery, criminal confinement, battery resulting in serious bodily injury and a habitual offender enhancement.
Judge Pro-Tem William Enslen, who is substituting for Lake Criminal Court Judge Salvador Vasquez, took Lackey's the plea under advisement. Sentencing is scheduled for April 22.
