EAST CHICAGO | An Indiana Harbor man told police he was shot while walking near his home Monday night by someone in a passing car.
The 21-year-old victim told police he was westbound on 140th Street crossing Grand Boulevard at 10:30 p.m. when he was hit by one of several bullets fired out of the driver's side window of an eastbound black Chevrolet Impala.
He was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg and released, police said.
Investigating officers found no shell casings or other evidence at the scene, police said. There were no suspects in the shooting Tuesday, police said.
