EAST CHICAGO | A teenager was left with his hands and feet bound for about three hours after being beaten by people he called friends Sunday, police said.
The 16 year-old boy's mother found him and called police around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, Lt. Marguerite Wilder said.
The boy told police he had some people at his home in the 3900 block of Hemlock Street when he was attacked, Wilder said.
After being struck, he was tied up and the group left his home. His mother wasn't home and found him when she returned, Wilder said.
Police are investigating the incident as gang activity, she said.
The teen was not severely injured and did not require medical attention, police said.
East Chicago detectives are investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to contact them on the anonymous tip line at (219) 391-8500.
