EAST CHICAGO | The annual Taste of East Chicago will be held from noon to 11 p.m. today through Sunday at Veteran’s Park, 145th Street and Indianapolis Boulevard.
A variety of excellent food, from BBQ to doughnuts and catfish to tacos, and live music make this event a success as residents and visitors come from near and far to be a part of the festivities, said a city spokesperson.
The Taste of East Chicago also features a car show Saturday and a motorcycle show Sunday, with prizes to the winners. Registration is open up to one hour before judging.
Friday offers a talent show, AZ-1 Band and New Orleans Beau. Saturday will feature Los Cordobas and Mystic Fire bands. Sunday's line-up includes the Carlos Ramos Band and Mannix Martinez.
Bands start at 6 p.m. every night and there will music during the day by DJ Joweto. Sterling Crown Carnival is providing the amusement rides.
