EAST CHICAGO | Angel Manfredy has established a non-profit organization called T.K.O., which stands for Total Kids Outreach. The program provides boxing lessons to all boys and girls in northwest Indiana ages 9-18 free of charge.

“I started boxing when I was nine,” Manfredy said.

Manfredy is currently looking for a permanent location to train the children.

With an illustrious career spanning more than a decade conquering fighters like the late Arturo Gatti, Ivan Robinson and Julio Diaz - Angel Manfredy retired from boxing in 2004 with a 43-8-1 (32 knockouts).

After deciding to give up womanizing, alcohol and drug abuse, Manfredy became a born-again Christian, denounced his “El Diablo” image and stopped entering the ring wearing his all too familiar mask depicting the devil. He now wants to give back to the community, starting with the youth of East Chicago.
