EAST CHICAGO | Two local men were arrested Tuesday night after causing a drunken scene on a South Shore commuter train, police said.
Gregory Clark II, 22, of the 1900 block of Spruce Circle in Munster, and Paul Thompson, 22, of the 200 block of Marcliffe Drive in Valparaiso, each were arrested on a charge of intoxication upon a common carrier, according to Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District police.
Officers responded to the East Chicago station at 9:26 p.m. after a conductor reported Clark and Thompson were intoxicated, using profane language and frightening passengers police said. Some of the passengers moved to other cars to try to get away from the men, police said.
As officers removed Clark and Thompson from the train, they allegedly argued used profanity toward police.
Officials called for an ambulance for a female companion of the two men after she fell to the ground and began to convulse. She refused medical treatment or transport to an area hospital after she recovered, police said.
