The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana will provide free food to residents in need during events this month in Hammond and East Chicago.
Food will be distributed from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Renaissance Towers, 524 Michigan St. in Hammond. Another food distribution event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 21 at the Pennsylvania Center, 3550 Pennsylvania Ave. in East Chicago.
Participants are asked to bring valid proof of Indiana residency and bags or boxes to carry food.
