Program helps youth leaders better serve organizations

February 27, 2012 12:00 am  •

EAST CHICAGO | Leading Through Relationships is the topic of an Indiana Youth Institute Youth Worker Cafe from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Healthy East Chicago Center, 100 W. Chicago Ave.

Participants will receive lunch at no charge.

The event is open to youth workers, parents, community leaders, youth ministers, educators, counselors and others working to impact the well-being of local youth. It's an interactive presentation to help participants get to know their peers and increase their ability to support one another.

The goal is to teach simple methods for increasing the capacity of youth-serving organizations to work with local communities by tapping the resources of those in leadership positions.

The event is free, but reservations are required by noon today. To RSVP or for more information, contact Cynthia Rivas of the Healthy East Chicago Center at (219) 397-5431 or crivas@healthyec.org.
