EAST CHICAGO | An overturned semi on the Michigan Avenue exit ramp closed the southbound lanes of Cline Avenue for about four hours Thursday, police said.

The crash happened at 12:36 p.m., but details of how the semi overturned weren't available Thursday evening.

Lake County sheriff's police found the semi overturned, said Patti Van Til, Sheriff's Department spokeswoman. The semi lost its load of steel coil, she said.

The driver, Robert Navarez, 24, of Dyer, was not injured. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, Van Til said.

The Indiana State Police Motor Carrier Division was on scene investigating just before 2 p.m.
