EAST CHICAGO | A Hammond man died after being shot Sunday morning during a drive-by shooting, police said.
Ernest Parker died after being shot in the 5000 block of Melville Avenue in East Chicago, according to the Lake County coroner's office.
Parker, 32, suffered a gunshot wound to his left rib area around 3:30 a.m., East Chicago Sgt. George Cossey said.
Another man was shot in the left arm and was treated at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and released.
Police did not have a description of the car as of Sunday night, Cossey said.
