EAST CHICAGO | The City of East Chicago’s Mayor Anthony Copeland, The Foundations of East Chicago & The Department of Redevelopment Commissioner’s - Ruby Powell Flowers - President, Maune Morgan, V.. P., Ronald London, Carlyle Edwards, and Terrance Velligan hosted an official groundbreaking today at noon.

Phillippe Builders, will be constructing 6 quality single family homes at the Washington Square location, on the corner of Parrish and Columbus Drive. The homes designs will be Tri-levels and Two-story all brick, 3 bedrooms, two plus baths, with an attached 2 car garage.

The Department of Redevelopment is offering home ownership incentives by providing down payment assistance ranging between $25,000 to $30,000. This is an great opportunity to be a new and/or first time home owner in a beautiful semi-gated sub-division in the City of East Chicago.
