Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana are joining more than 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs across the U.S. and military installations today through Saturday for the annual celebration of National Boys & Girls Club Week.

This year's theme – Open the Door. Take the Tour – encourages communities to experience firsthand how Boys & Girls Clubs make a difference in the lives of young people. Tours will take place today at the East Chicago club, 2009 E. 138th St; Friday in Hammond, 5840 Calumet Ave.; Cedar Lake, 13000 Fairbanks St.; Merrillville, 1400 W. 61st Ave.; and Lake Station, 4700 Central Ave.; and Saturday in Gary, 2700 W. 19th Ave.

“At the heart of our organization is a desire to positively influence the lives of young people in our community,” said Megan Henning, marketing manager of Boys & Girls Clubs of NWI. “We are more than just an after-school center. We want Lake County to experience the dozens life-changing programs we offer to hundreds of kids in the community our Clubs serve every day.

Also this week, visit greatfutures.org/bgcweek to take a virtual tour of clubs and enter a contest for a chance to win a $500 Lowe’s or a $250 Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores gift card.
