Fish Frys take place on Fridays

CALUMET CITY | Post 330 fish frys are back on Fridays through April 18, serving cod, lake perch, shrimp and chicken tenders at the post, 950 Legion Drive. Dinners include an entree, French fries, coleslaw, roll and butter, desert and coffee. Call (708) 862-8685.

EAST CHICAGO | American Legion Allied Post 369 will host a weekly Lenten Fish Fry from 4 to 7 p.m. at 1401 W. Chicago Ave. A variety of seafood dinners, including lake perch, frog legs, shrimp, catfish filets, walleye, cod, and all-you-can-eat-Pollock will be available. GRIFFITH | Griffith VFW Post 9982 hosts a weekly fish fry and steak dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday, serving Pollock, shrimp, perch, catfish, steak and chicken wings at 301 E. Main St. All proceeds benefit veterans. Call (219) 924-6102.

GRIFFITH | St. Mary School will hold its home-cooked Lenten fish dinners every Friday during Lent from 5 to 7 p.m. at 525 N. Lafayette St. Dinners include beer-battered fried fish, salad bar, choice of baked potato or French fries, bread, dessert, coffee, milk or tea. Pop, beer and wine extra and available at the bar. Shrimp, frog legs and combo dinners also available for $12. Children 12 and under have a choice of fish, shrimp or pizza dinners for $5. Adult fish dinner $10. Senior fish dinners $9. HAMMOND | St. John Bosco School will host fish fry dinners through April 4 including baked, mashed or french fried potatoes and our famous all-you-can-eat salad bar from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school cafeteria, 171st Place and Columbia Ave. Other items are fresh ocean perch, home style pierogi and shrimp. HOBART | St. Thomas Council No. 1347 Hobart will hold Lenten fish frys from 4 to 7 p.m. through April 11 at St. Bridget Parish Center, 2nd and Main Street. Meals include baked or french fried potatoes, salad bar, coffee and bread. There is a choice of smelt, pollock, ocean perch, butterfly shrimp, whole catfish, lake perch or fishermen platter. MERRILLVILLE | St. Andrew's Parish will hold a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. through April 11 at Ameling Hall, 801 W. 73rd Ave. Menu includes fried pollock or baked tilapia or six sauerkraut pierogi with baked potato or fries, and coleslaw, bread and butter, ice cream, coffee and punch. MERRILLVILLE | Descent of the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church hosts Friday night fish frys with homemade side dishes from 4 to 7 p.m. at 750 W. 61st Ave. Call ahead to confirm, since it is sometimes cancelled for holidays and special occasions in the church's banquet hall. Call (219) 980-0374.

MERRILLVILLE | St. Michael's Byzantine Parish will hold a fish fry and perohi dinner from 2:30 to 7 p.m. every Friday through April 11. Call (219) 980-9074.

MUNSTER | Lenten fish frys will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays at Ridge United Methodist Church, 8607 Columbia Ave. Menu includes fried perch, macaroni and cheese, baked potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and desserts. SCHERERVILLE | St. Michael's Parish Lenten Fish Frys sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council No. 12177 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the hall, 1 W. Wilhelm. Baked or fried pollock, fries or baked potato, homemade coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, fresh green beans, tossed salad, beets, four-bean salad, pasta salad, bread and butter, lemonade or coffee.
