GARY — The Froebel Alumni Park Committee is issuing a clarion call for alumni, relatives of alumni and all others who would like to support the further development of the Froebel Park at 15th and Madison Street. The committee is offering commemorative bricks for $100, the price represents a 50 percent ($100) reduction in the cost of the bricks.

The bricks with desired engraved information will be professionally laid in front of the Froebel High School monument located in the center of the park where the front door entry was to the school.

Vernon G. Smith, committee chairman, said alumni may want to include their name and year of graduation on the bricks. Relatives may want to place an introductory line of “in memory of” and then the alumnus name and graduation year. Others may want to list their business, or their name and the school they graduated from and year. He added that several Tolleston and Roosevelt graduates have purchased bricks and on their brick, they included their names, their school, and their graduation year.

Persons interested should contact Smith at 219-887-2046. Bricks may be paid for in installments.
