CROWN POINT | Lake County Community Corrections has scheduled its second annual Dunk Tank and BBQ for Wednesday to raise funds for its Positive Impact program.

The program aids in the rehabilitation of current and former criminal offenders. The money raised has helped with assistance for medication and food. Back-to-school kits for children are currently needed.

Raffle tickets are $5. Winners will receive a 39-inch flat-screen television, barbecue grill or $25 gift card, event organizers said.

For $1, those attending may try to "dunk" newly named Juvenile Court Judge Thomas Stefaniak Jr., also a longtime Criminal Court judge.

The event is scheduled to run from noon to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday behind the Kimbrough Work Release Center on the north side of 93rd Avenue and west of Main Street in Crown Point.
