GARY | Two women were arrested Friday on allegations they dragged a 26-year-old woman three blocks with their vehicle after the three had an altercation at a nightclub near 12th Avenue and Virginia Street, police said.

Simone Clark, 23, and Royal Ruffin, 21, each were charged with battery and criminal recklessness, police said.

The fight began about 2:45 a.m. Friday when the women began to argue and the dispute escalated into a physical altercation inside Shaw’s Night Club, 1173 Virginia St., according to police reports.

The women were escorted out of the nightclub, but continued arguing, police said.

The victim was grabbed by her arm and held as a vehicle driven by Clark sped off, police said. She was dragged for about three blocks before she was released, police said.

Police located the vehicle and arrested Simon and Ruffin. The victim was taken to a hospital treatment of her injuries.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Gary police Sgt. Freddie Cook at (219) 881-1209.
