GARY | Seven people, including five juveniles, were arrested Sunday afternoon in connection with a disturbance at a residence in the 300 block of Taft Place.
According to reports, officers were called to the home around 2:58 p.m., when they were advised of shots being fired. Witnesses reported seeing subjects coming out of the house and firing a gun into the ground. Reports of an assault weapon being at the scene prompted officers to call on the SWAT unit.
Those arrested include 24-year-old Jason Coleman, who was charged with criminal recklessness, and 19-year-olds Louise McGill and Ariane Hunt, who were both charged with obstructing justice, assisting a criminal and interference with a police investigation. Five juveniles ages 14 through 17 also were charged with assisting a criminal, obstruction of justice and interference with a police investigation.
