CROWN POINT | The death of a Calumet Township man found pinned under a tractor Friday night is believed to have been accidental, said PJ Adams, spokesman for the Lake County coroner's office.
No foul play is suspected, but an autopsy is being performed to determine whether 59-year-old Steven Seckendorf died of natural causes prior to falling under the tractor, Adams said Saturday.
Coroner's investigators were called at 8:35 p.m. Friday to Seckendorf's residence in the 4600 block of Rutledge Street, where Seckendorf was found dead under the tractor with lacerations to the leg.
The death continues under investigation by the coroner's office and Lake County Sheriff's Department.
"We want to make sure he didn't have a medical event," Adams said of determining the cause of death.
