GARY | U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Merrillville, will join Gary civic and education leaders for a College Financial Aid and Opportunity Night on Feb. 21.
Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson, Gary Community School Corp. Superintendent Cheryl Pruitt, a representative from the U.S. Department of Education and 10 local colleges and universities will attend.
The session is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gary Area Career Center, 1800 E. 35th Ave. It will provide information about the availability of federal financial aid programs, including federal grants, federal work study and federal student loans.
The college and universities attending the session include Calumet College of St. Joseph, DeVry University - School of Management, Ivy Tech, Indiana University Northwest, Kaplan College, Purdue University Calumet, Purdue University North Central, St. Joseph College, South Suburban College and Valparaiso University.
