GARY | Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson and the city of Gary social media team are launching an online contest called "How Do You Love Gary?"
The contest is looking for the resident with the most love for Gary. The winner receives lunch with Freeman-Wilson and an "I Love Gary" T-shirt.
The contest is looking for people who are making a positive impact on the city by their acts of kindness or by showing how they make a positive impact in their work.
Contestants will create an original video not to exceed 90 seconds in length of a person or organization exemplifying how they love Gary.
Self-nomination videos are also welcome.
The contest is open to Gary residents age 16 and older. No purchase or contribution is necessary to enter a video or to vote. A valid ID with a Gary address is required.
Contestants can film and upload their own video, or the city of Gary can film and edit nominations for free, at a to-be-determined videotaping area.
For a complete list of dates, times and locations, idea and resources, or to upload a nomination, go to www.teamgaryindiana.com
The last day to submit videos is 11:59 p.m. March 1. The last day the public can vote is 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
