GARY | Gary police continue to investigate alleged robberies pertaining to listings on the classified advertising website, Craigslist, police reports show.

A 71-year-old man responding to an advertisement posted on the Craigslist website was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday at an apartment in the 500 block of North Lake Street, police said.

The victim went to the location about 1:30 p.m. and was robbed of his cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash, police reports state.

In another case, three people from Fort Wayne were robbed Monday in the 500 block of Pennsylvania Street while answering an advertisement posted on Craigslist for the sale of a car, police said.

The victims were waiting for the alleged seller to arrive at the agreed location when they were approached by a man with a gun who took their cell phones and wallets, according to police reports.
