GARY | A narrow crack opened up in an elevated section of the Indiana Toll Road about 3 p.m. Friday in Gary, causing tires to blow out on about a dozen vehicles, according to Indiana State Police.
State police and repair crews from the private company that operates the Toll Road responded to the scene near the Broadway ramps, and road repairs were completed within about an hour, said Master Trooper Floyd Archie.
There were no crashes or injuries caused by the incident.
