GARY | South Shore Dance Alliance will present two performances this weekend of a dance program honoring the music, voice, and message of the late Nina Simone. Guest artists Billy Foster and the Billy Foster Trio, and legendary jazz trumpeter Art Hoyle, will also perform.
“We’re very excited to offer this performance to the area,” said Larry Brewer, South Shore Dance Alliance artistic director. “Nina Simone has always been an inspiration to us, and we love to put choreography on her beautiful music.”
Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday at West Side High School Auditorium, Ninth and Gerry Street, and at 7 p.m. Saturday at the IU Northwest Theater, 3660 Grant St.
