GARY | The Urban League of Northwest Indiana presents "Ministers in Concert" at 7 p.m. Friday at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2045 Massachusetts St., Gary.
It's an all-denominational holiday event featuring song, worship and praise. It is free to participating church congregations and will feature soloists and church choirs.
All donations raised from the concert will be given to the Urban League to sustain its advocacy and outreach programs in Northwest Indiana.
In 2012, the Urban League assisted more than 1,500 walk-in clients with employment services, free income tax assistance and food referrals. It also sponsored several education and financial literary forums in addition to providing college scholarships and scholarship opportunities to more than 500 qualifying high school seniors.
