GARY | A Gary woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the eye with a screwdriver early Saturday morning, Gary police said.
The 42-year-old man went about 12:30 a.m. to his apartment in the 400 block of East 48th Place to pick up items while a female friend waited outside, police Cpl. Gabrielle King said. Inside the apartment, the man and his live-in girlfriend started arguing when she allegedly picked up a screwdriver and began stabbing him, King said.
The man asked the female friend to take him to his sister's house in Chicago, but on the way decided he needed medical attention. She took him to Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago.
No charges had been filed as of Tuesday morning, Gary police Detective Larry Robertson said.
