Gary man charged, allegedly choked pregnant woman, 50

GARY | A 51-year-old Gary man was arrested and charged with strangulation, battery and resisting arrest after allegedly choking a pregnant woman, police said.

Patrol officers were flagged down just before 9 p.m. Tuesday about an incident in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Street, Cpl. Gabrielle King said. They saw a 50-year-old pregnant woman holding her stomach and running out of the house screaming, King said. She told police Timothy Lowery had choked her until she almost passed out.
